VIRTUE-s six outputs

The project have six "outputs":

O1. VIRTUE-s teaching packages
​​​​​​​The teaching resources include material such as lesson plans, worksheets and identification tables for organisms.They are primarily intended for teachers participating as a registered VIRTUE-s user but they are also freely accessible to their colleagues, students or any other interested third party without registration. Teachers and educators who download the teaching resources are asked to provide feedback by filling in an evaluation form (online, embedded in the teaching resources). As part of the VIRTUE-s project, the teaching packages will be made available in English, Swedish, German, Catalan and Spanish.

O2. VIRTUE-s further development courses for teachers
The primary participants at UGOT are in-service teachers who will be able to apply to a course at UGOT (7.5 University credits, Sweden). The primary participants in Germany (Schleswig-Holstein) and Spain (Catalonia) are in service-teachers who will be able to apply at GEOMAR and SUBMON to take part in teacher training courses. Teachers will also be contacted through personal communications (teacher contacts lists) or by signing up to participate in O3 and O6, as the courses will be promoted there. The secondary participants will be students and teacher colleagues of the primary participants.

O3. VIRTUE-s Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)
All teachers involved as primary participants in O1, O2, O4, O5 and O6 will be encouraged to register for the MOOC. The secondary participants will be students and teacher colleagues of the primary participants. Other participants will be visitors of the College of Exploration's 7 Ocean Literacy Principles, together with partners from UNESCO (via the Sea Change project as the creator of the MOOC “From ABC to ABSeas: Ocean Literacy for all”).

O4. Video - pedagogical communication tool
The teachers will be part of a media literacy workshop and will then be able to “train” their pupils in producing media productions, sharing their results with the other pupils involved in this project. In addition, a handbook "how to produce collaborative media productions" workshop reaching external teachers. This handbook will be part of O1, O2, O3 and O6.

O5. Pedagogical IT tool calculating Biodiversity
The primary participants are VIRTUES-s teachers who will be involved by either becoming a registered VIRTUE-s user (O6) (and be directed to this tool at UMCES/MDSGC) or by using the Biofilm and Biodiversity website at UMCES/MDSGC. The participants may also be involved through personal communications (teacher contacts lists) or by signing up to participate in O2 and O3. The secondary participants will be pupils and teacher colleagues of the primary participants.

O6. VIRTUEDATA
The primary participants are VIRTUES-s teachers who will be involved by either becoming a registered VIRTUE-s user (O6) (and be directed to this tool at MDSG) or by using the Biofilm and Biodiversity website at MDSG. The participants may also be involved through personal communications (teacher contacts lists) or by signing up to participate in O2 and O3. The secondary participants will be students and teacher colleagues of the primary participants.
