VIRTUE-projects require some planning ahead because organisms in the ocean and lakes do not populate a new substrate overnight (which is a great relief for boat-owners in sea waters).
At school, projects also have to be synchronized with the timetable. Typically, VIRTUE discs should be in the water for several weeks or even months, depending on season and geographical region.
Here, we present a tentative time frame to give schools some idea on how to fit a VIRTUE project into their schedule. Of course, this has to be adapted to the individual type of project, school timetable, etc.
